The Blue Heron Candle Company was created from Jody Sangder's desire to break away from corporate life and live in a way that would be much more fulfilling of her true spirit. She wanted to work close to home, doing something meaningful with people she enjoys. Jody started making candles in her spare room, where she would look down on Fishtrap Inlet through her open windows and watch the herons wade in the shallow waters at low tide. She created candles inspired by the beauty and peacefulness that surround her there. She has now moved to a new shop and continues to make candles inspired by her natural surroundings. Blue Heron candles are made with soy wax, palm wax, bees wax and paraffin/ vegetable wax. Only cotton, lead free wicks are used in pillars and zinc core is used in container candles. Oils are essential and non-essential with pure aromas. Each candle is unique and one of a kind. The Mission at the Blue Heron Candle Company is to enhance people's lives and make high quality candles that will create a sense of beauty, peacefulness and ambiance in any setting, on any given day. Candles will always be a source of warmth, ambiance and beauty. A handmade candle is a genuine work of art, reminding us that life is good when we enjoy the simple things.
